During the flurry of game announcements at the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 showed up and showed out. With it’s gorgeous visuals and surprise appearance of Bam Margera as a playable character, we were blown away by what looks like a sure-fire hit. Following the showcase we were given an opportunity to go hands-on with the demo, now available to those who pre-ordered.

The game starts with two well-known parks: Foundry and College. Foundry, which was in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, is a tough industrial area with risky molten material and narrow paths. College, from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, is a sunny campus with open areas and rooftop jumps. Both have been updated in 4K with better lighting and backgrounds, so every grind and kickflip looks great. The demo holds gamers to a two minute time limit, so get your tricks in fast.

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 demo teases us with two skaters; Tony Hawk and Rayssa Leal. If you pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, Doom Slayer of the Doom franchise is also available. It’s a strange mix of old and new and watching a demon-slaying space marine skate is both weird and amazing. The full list of skaters has legends like Rodney Mullen, Elissa Steamer, Bob Burnquist, and the aforementioned Bam Margera as well as current stars like Yuto Horigome and Zion Wright.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 demo a great appetizer to what is sure to be a five-course meal. After spending hours with the demo, we can assure gamers that this is the return to glory for the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise. While Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was a great reintroduction to the series, 3+4 looks to be the game that will show gamers how great a game can be when a studio is given the time and support needed to fully bring a vision to life. Hopefully other developers take note.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 releases on July 11, 2025 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC platforms. The standard edition will set you back $49.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition retails for $69.99. Those who pre-order the deluxe edition can access the game three days early, on June 8th.
