Today marks a significant anniversary for multiple titles in the Black Ops series of the Call of Duty franchise. 2012 marked the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, while 2020 marks the release of Black Ops: Cold War.

Game Informer scored scored Black Ops II at an 8.5, and selling over 11 million units in it’s first week and grossing half a billion dollars.

Game Informer gave Black Ops: Cold War slightly higher praise, giving it an 8.7. While specific unit sales weren’t revealed for Black Ops: Cold War due to multiple factors, including the difficulty in tracking during the Covid-19 pandemic and the rise of digital sales, Cold War is confirmed to have sold 5.7 million units in its first month.
