Supermassive Games have announced another round of layoffs. In their statement, the company cites the “challenging and ever-evolving environment” of the games industry. Supermassive Games notes that up to “36 of our current colleagues” will be affected.
This marks the second round of layoffs for the studio since it was purchased by Nordisk in July of 2022. Approximately 90 employees were affected at that time.
Along with the layoffs, Supermassive also announced that their highly-anticipated title Directive 8020, slated to release on October 2nd, 2025, has been pushed back to the first half of 2026. There was no direct reason given for the delay.
In addition, the company confirms that these layoffs and delay will not affect the development of their upcoming title Little Nightmares.
