Big into single-player games? Are you looking to sail the seas? Looking to find hidden buried treasure where X marks the spot? Fight scary sea monsters from the depths of the ocean? Or perhaps raid ships to collect resources? Then you need to step into the fun world created by 3DClouds, Trident’s Tale.

You start off playing as Ocean, who wandered off exploring the nearby island. As she returns to her guardian, everything goes wrong when he is kidnapped by the evil skeletons who are on the hunt for pieces of the trident. Your mission is to rescue your father and build a crew to help you along the way, while combating enemies and figuring out puzzles inside several different dungeons. There are multiple crewmates to recruit as you explore this vast world. Each recruit offers a unique skill that helps you in combat situations, from big AOE attacks, powerful single target attacks, and healing. You can also upgrade skills from collecting grog! Each skill has its talent tree, allowing you to adjust the skills to your playing style. Ocean starts with 1 piece of the trident, which is the necklace that powers the skills from a magical energy source called Divinorum. Which is collected by using melee attacks.

The overall graphics for the game are similar to Fortnite; you may notice some similarities when it comes to textures of the world and characters, which adds a fun element when playing and combatting. Each island has its unique features, which will leave you exploring all over, collecting material,s and hunting down treasure. Within each town/island, offers different merchants to buy crafting materials for upgrading/crafting your clothing, ship, and equipment. There is a small variety of armor and weapons that have different elemental buffs to boost certain skill attacks. What is impressive about the game is the size of the world, but the game isn’t over 12 gigs!! Which makes it impressive for the quality it delivers.

The gameplay and controls are fun and easy to adapt to. The game runs smoothly overall, although with minor hiccups. At times while I was jumping, Ocean would get defeated randomly without any enemies being around. Sometimes a cut scene would be sluggish, but that was few and far between. Most of the skills work really well once you get the hang of the timing and learning what elements work well against each other. honing those skills Leaves you with a fun, gripping adventure.

Trident’s Tale is a fun pirate adventuring game that will keep you playing, not wanting the fun, goofy action to stop. The game is full of comical moments and action while leaving the user with a vast world to explore that never lacks in surprises. If that sounds as fun to you as it did to us, then Trident’s Tale is for you.
Trident’s Tale is currently available on all platforms at an MSRP of $19.99
