During the D.I.C.E. Awards, game industry legend Vince Zampella was memorialized in a touching tribune by Min Kim of Bonfire Studios.
During his speech, Kim touched on how dedicated and unselfish Vince was, always pushing the spotlight way from himself and shining it on the team.
In an emotional moment, Kim touched on the state of the gaming industry and what Vince would think of it. He said:
“The entire industr is nervous right now; we’re at the risk of becoming derivative. The stakes are at the highest they’ve ever been and (so is) the mandate to maximize returns and reduce risk. To this I believe Vince would say that the biggest risk in game making is not taking any risk at all.”
Vince Zampella passed away on December 22, 2025, after sustaining injuries resulting from an automobile accident. Our tribute to Vince can be found.
