The Fallout franchise saw a big holiday boost after season two of Amazon’s Fallout series premiered. Video Game Insights reported noticeable jumps in both sales and player activity across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Fallout 4 led the surge, selling over 12,000 copies on December 29 and later hitting nearly 100,000 players on Xbox in early January. Sales also picked up on January 7, with Fallout: New Vegas nearing 8,000 units sold and Fallout 3 reaching around 3,000.
Player engagement rose sharply after Christmas, especially for Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. When season two launched on December 16, Fallout 76 had the highest daily active users, helped by its availability on Game Pass.
On Steam, Alinea data showed weekly active users doubling from about 60,000 to 120,000, while concurrent players jumped from roughly 20,000 to over 40,000. Overall, Alinea said season two acted as a major catalyst for engagement—particularly for Fallout 76, which peaked at 235,000 daily active users on December 30.
