Don Daglow on what’s Most Important

In a 2017 interview with Don Weaver of the Smithsonian Institution, Don Weaver asked famed game industry pioneer Don Daglow about notoriety in game development. Don has produced games for Mattel Intellivision, PDP, and AOL. He knows what it takes to be successful in the game industry. He’s also no stranger to what it takes to build a reputation in the industry.

When asked if notoriety has helped or hurt him over the years, Daglow, who also regularly visits University programming classes states:

“Do not think about what the press will say. Do not think about what a critic will say. Do not think about your scores on some website. Think about how the people who play your games will feel, and if you do that, everything else will take care of itself.”
