When Justin and I started GamesRelated in 2014, we had a goal of setting ourselves apart and paving our own way into the gaming industry. Coming from a small town, there weren’t any opportunities at that time, so finding one ourselves was the only way. Because we were doing something different, we were featured in our local newspapers (they were still a big deal then). We hope you enjoy our story and our vision.

DANSVILLE – A few local men are working towards fulfilling their dreams with their new company, Games Related. Rich Booth, Justin Jaeger, and Zach Bennett created this website with aspirations of something much larger moving forward.
Games Related is an informative gaming website, originally designed to fill a void in gaming news. Starting from their love of gaming, the idea of a website blossomed when the talk of opening an arcade was started among the crew.
“I would check my news in the morning, and it was all the same stuff,” said Store Manager of Verizon Wireless Zone and Co-Founder Rich Booth. “All these jaded gamers find faults, and write about them.”
The crew wanted to find the positive parts, and just role with it. Something Booth was accustomed to. Booth has an illustrious history with the gaming industry. He was a game review editor for Nintendo Joe, a writer for Twin Galaxies, and was a writer for the Guinness Book of World Records (2009-2011). Booth also had the opportunity to work with companies such as 2k Sports, and Nintendo.
Other game information websites are out there, but Booth and Jaeger feel their site does more. With a number of unique features including live streaming of new games, the site offers quotes from various Game-Industry greats. Booth feels this is a strong pull, as he got much attention from them on a website he managed prior.
Another feature in the works involves a release date calendar, a feature that will show on the site and your smartphone. You will then be able to preorder games directly from the calendar,
The website is also taking off much faster than anticipated, something none of the members are distraught about. Companies such as Microsoft have shown interest, sending Games Related a game review for them just this week.
As for the future, they have a solid plan in the works. With the end goal of having a store front along with an arcade, the group hopes to garner enough attention and support to be able to do this full time. With a merchandising scheme in place already, they have all the tools to move ahead.
Moving past that, they hope to build relationships with not only major companies, but with gamers as well, being able to sponsor them to let them stream game play on their website.
As a local group of men try and take their business to the top, the companies “motto”, explained by Jaeger, will keep them level-headed moving forward.
“We do this because we love it.”
