How Destiny FINALLY Got it Right!

It’s been a week since Destiny‘s second expansion House of Wolves was released and man, has it made much more of an impact than the first expansion did. A lot of players, myself included, found that although The Dark Below had some promising moments in the raid, it was very anti-climactic. Bungie knew if they wanted to keep their reported 16 million users still playing, they needed to make up with part two, and boy did they fly past that standard.

Prior to HOW, the only thing you could find in the Reef was a short video that gave a very brief story. Players didn’t get the chance to get to know the Queen or any of the backstory. As a player, it was awesome to finally get to see something new – one of them being Prison of Elders, a brand new gaming style where Guardians get placed in an arena type setting and fight through rounds of enemies. What makes it extra fun is that each round is a new enemy, so you could start with the Hive and end with the Fallen.

The weapons and armor have made a huge improvement. Prior to the new expansion, each weapon was stuck at a maximum level. Now, with the help of etheric light, another new feature, players can upgrade ANY weapon and armor they want. There is so much more diversity in the game with this feature alone.

New weapons and armor were normally attained from the Vanguard and Crucible. The new expansion features factions that now give specialty items from each one. The first expansion pretty much gave the same weapons over again, with the same stats and features, but with a different name.

Bungie has finally given the players what they want and what Destiny needed: diversity. So speaking for the players, thank you Bungie!
